Inter Milan chief in England to close Andre Onana deal with Manchester United
Piero Ausilio, the sporting director of Inter Milan, is in England at the moment to close a deal with Manchester United for Andre Onana, according to Italian outlet Corriere Della Sera.
As things stand, the Nerazzurri need to raise cash and the Red Devils are willing to offer €50 million for the Cameroonian. However, the Serie A giants hope to reach the €60 million mark with add-ons.
Erik ten Hag is familiar with the shot-stopper. The Dutch manager had the 27-year-old at Ajax Amsterdam and now wants to bring him to Manchester.
Onana made his way through the youth ranks at the Eredivisie outfit. Subsequently, during Ten Hag’s five-year stint at De Godenzonen, the gaffer developed the shot-stopper.
The Cameroonian is now one of the best in the world. What is admirable about the goalkeeper is his abilities with the ball. The 27-year-old’s distribution was key in hampering Manchester City in the Champions League final.
Inter signed a gem last summer on a free transfer. Over the course of last season, Onana displaced Samir Handonovic to become the undisputed number one at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza side.
As for United, it looks like David de Gea will soon part ways with us. The Spaniard’s current contract with the Red Devils is set to expire in the coming days and he is yet to sign an extension.
While the 32-year-old did not seem comfortable playing under Ten Hag in the previous campaign, he still had the most clean sheets in the Premier League.

If De Gea ends up leaving we will evidently need a new number one. The thought of signing Onana is exciting, considering the style of football the Dutch manager wants to play at the Old Trafford side would suit the Cameroonian.
