Tottenham Hotspur striker and Manchester United target Harry Kane ‘still thinking’ about Bayern Munich transfer
Manchester United target Harry Kane is ‘still thinking’ about making a switch to Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to Christian Falk on Bild’s transfer podcast (h/t The Sun).
The striker’s family is in touch with the Bavarians regarding a move to Germany. However, the North London side want £100 million to part ways with the England international in the ongoing transfer window.
Real Madrid and the Red Devils have also expressed interest in the 29-year-old. However, Spurs valuation has seen the two teams back off for now. Whether the Bundesliga giants will pay up remains to be seen as well.
As things stand, the Old Trafford side do not have a lot of funds at their disposal. The takeover saga at the club has led to ambiguity around the money available to spend this summer, which Erik ten Hag is not pleased about.
Thus, United are unwilling to meet Tottenham’s demands for Kane. The striker will soon turn 30 and his current contract at the North London side is set to expire at the end of next season.
Therefore, it is not surprising to see that the Red Devils have opted against getting a hold of the English national’s services for now. However, we will evidently need to pay a premium to sign a player like the 29-year-old.
Bayern were not at their best last season. Julian Nagelsmann was sacked mid-way through the campaign and was replaced by Thomas Tuchel. Having let go of Robert Lewandowski last summer, the Bavarians have the likes of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in their ranks.
As for United, we could evidently do with someone like Kane in our ranks. The forward has proven himself year after year in the Premier League. At the moment, Anthony Martial is the only natural number nine Ten Hag has at his disposal going into next season.

Unfortunately, it looks like United’s reluctance will hand other teams a chance to sign Kane. The English national is seemingly guaranteed titles at Bayern. But hopefully, the Old Trafford side will reignite their pursuit of the 29-year-old once again.
