Dean Henderson move to Nottingham Forest on hold due to David de Gea uncertainty at Manchester United
Manchester United shot-stopper Dean Henderson will have to wait for his move to Nottingham Forest until the future of David de Gea is resolved, according to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News).
As things stand, any potential deal between the Tricky Trees and the Red Devils for the England international is on hold due to the uncertainty around the Spaniard. The 32-year-old’s current contract is set to expire at the end of this month.
Regarding the 26-year-old shot-stopper, he is likely to end up at the City Ground side. However, a transfer is being delayed because of the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper’s situation.

Henderson made his way through the youth ranks at the Old Trafford side. Subsequently, the English national broke into the Manchester-based club’s first-team setup in the 2020/21 season.
The 26-year-old shared minutes with De Gea in between the sticks at one point. However, the Spaniard was able to retain his number-one spot. As a result, the promising goalkeeper joined Forest on loan for the 2022/23 campaign.
At the Tricky Trees, Henderson put in some impressive performances. Unfortunately, his season was cut short after an injury in January. But the West Bridgford-based club were able to survive the drop.

The English national’s existing deal at United runs until June 2025. However, the 26-year-old is expected to part ways with the Red Devils in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, the City Ground side will have to pay £25–£30 million for him.

De Gea has been a brilliant servant for the Old Trafford side for the last decade. However, the veteran goalkeeper has seemingly fallen behind with regard to his ability with the ball at his feet. If the 32-year-old were to leave, would Henderson remain at the club? Only time will tell.
