Arsenal target and Bayer Leverkusen forward Moussa Diaby on Manchester United radar
Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby, who has been a long-term target of Premier League rivals Arsenal, is being eyed by Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils will look to bolster their attack in the upcoming transfer window. Erik ten Hag wants to add a goalscorer in the Old Trafford side’s ranks for next season.
To that end, the Manchester-based club are exploring a move for the 23-year-old French national. However, apart from the Gunners, Newcastle United also have the forward on their radar.
Leverkusen signed Diaby in the summer of 2019 from Paris Saint-Germain. Since then, the France international has been a key player for the Bay Arena side.
Over the last two seasons, the 23-year-old has honed an eye for goal. In the 2022/23 campaign, he made 48 appearances in all competitions, finding the back of the net 14 times and providing 11 assists.
Arsenal came close to winning the league title last season. Unfortunately, Manchester City ended up being too much to handle for Mikel Arteta’s team. The North London side relied on the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka up front.
As for United, Marcus Rashford shouldered the burden of our attack in Ten Hag’s first year in charge. The English national was the only one the gaffer could count on to score consistently.
Towards the end of the campaign, the academy graduate also lost a bit of form. As a result, we struggled to beat our opponents.

The gaffer also has heavily relied on Antony on the right wing. We could evidently do with more depth in that area. Diaby has shone at Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso. Will the 23-year-old opt to make a switch this summer? Only time will tell.
