Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has praised the signings of Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes, while speaking to the club’s official website (h/t Manchester Evening News) has hailed the impact of Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro on the squad.
United signed Martinez from Ajax while Casemiro came from Real Madrid in the summer window and it is fair to say that the two players have lifted the level of the squad.

Scholes believes that the club’s signing of Martinez and Casemiro were a big factor in them winning a trophy and finishing in the top four.
“I think for two or three years at least, this team’s been accused of lacking leaders. I think there’s a few leaders in the team.
When you think of the experience of Casemiro, Martinez is a great character and got personality and his experience. And I think that’s all changed around a little bit.
They’ve got a belief in them as well. I don’t think, you know, they don’t dominate games as much as they probably like to, but they’ve found a way to win and that’s the most important thing.”
It is imperative that for a great side to be developed, the manager needs a player with character and personality to be an example for others to follow.
Martinez’s no-nonsense approach to defending and giving his all to help the team has uplifted all of the defence around him and is the closest player we have had since Nemanja Vidic.

Casemiro has provided the much-needed protection to the back four, which conceded one of the highest goals in the league the season before.
More than that, Casemiro has shown his prowess with the ball having contributed to 7 goals and 6 assists this season, his best-ever tally.
Even at 32, the new Brazil captain is showing no signs of slowing down and despite the backlash faced over the fee when he was signed, it could be said that he has shut down every critic and is worth the penny.
