Real Madrid open to Federico Valverde sale amid Manchester United interest
La Liga giants Real Madrid are open to parting ways with Federico Valverde this summer amidst interest from Manchester United, according to Spanish outlet El Nacional.
The Uruguay international is not an untouchable member of the squad and Los Blancos are willing to cash in on him. Florentino Perez, the Santiago Bernabeu side’s president, will negotiate if an offer close to €80 million arrives.
Madrid are not happy with the midfielder due to his performances in the last few months. Although the 24-year-old would like to continue at the Spanish capital, a change of scenery has not been ruled out.
Los Blancos are looking to invest heavily in their squad this summer. The La Liga giants are hoping for a significant fee for Valverde. To that end, the Red Devils have been in touch with the Santiago Bernabeu side for the Uruguayan.
The Old Trafford side believe the midfielder could be an important addition to their engine room. However, Premier League rivals Liverpool also have him on their radar.
Madrid have some quality midfielders in their ranks. Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni are at Carlo Ancelotti’s disposal. On the other hand, they are also set to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
United signed Casemiro and Christian Eriksen last summer. The two have been pivotal to Erik ten Hag’s plans at the Old Trafford side.
However, the Red Devils seemingly lack quality in depth in the middle of the park and the Danish national has been a bit underwhelming since returning from an injury.

Valverde has previously played alongside Casemiro at Madrid to great success. We could evidently do with a player like the Uruguayan in our squad. However, it remains to be seen whether the Manchester-based club will be able to come to an agreement with Los Blancos.
