Teddy Sheringham has asked Manchester United to sign Harry Kane

Manchester United legend Teddy Sheringham has urged the club to land the club’s most sought-after striker, Harry Kane, as the Red Devils are heavily linked with the 29-year-old.

However, his signing will not be that simple given that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has put a massive price tag on him and is also reluctant to sell him to the Premier League clubs.

Besides United, Real Madrid and Chelsea are also keen on signing Kane, and as per the report, the Tottenham striker is leaning towards a move to Madrid.

Despite Marcus Rashford providing the majority of goals this season, United are still looking to sign an out-and-out striker as Rashford has not been consistent in front of goal.

And Sheringham feels United need a clinical number nine and when asked about Old Trafford outfit need to sign a No. 9 in the summer and Harry Kane potentially joining. He told Betway:

“This is the only thing people have asked me about over the last two years. If these two clubs want to be better, they need Kane. Tottenham need to keep him, and Manchester United need to sign him.”

“He’s exactly the type of player that Manchester United needs. He’s a leader, he scores goals, and he’s professional. He will drive your team on. He is the full package as a centre forward. He would be frightening for Manchester United.”

Sheringham is spot on, but it will be difficult to acquire Kane if Levy refuses to sell him to Premier League clubs. Additionally, the arrival of the new owners is uncertain, which casts doubt on our summer transfer budget.

Given that Kane scored 30 goals with his lacklustre Spurs team this season, we don’t need to explain what he can do or how much he can help us with our goal-scoring issues. Just contemplate how many goals he will score if he joins our elite squad with superb service.
