West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur ‘offered’ Manchester United defender Harry Maguire
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has been ‘offered’ to Premier League rivals West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur, according to ESPN.
The two English top flight outfits have been handed the opportunity to acquire the services of the centre-back in the upcoming transfer window.
Erik ten Hag, the manager of the Red Devils, is willing to part ways with the club captain this summer. The England international’s current contract with the Old Trafford side runs until June 2025.
In the past, the 30-year-old has been keen on staying at Man United and fighting for his place in the team. However, it remains to be seen what the former Leicester City star’s future holds for him.
Tottenham have appointed Ange Postecoglou in their dugout. The Australian head coach made his way to the North London side from Celtic. Now, Spurs are keen on bolstering their backline.
As for West Ham, they have not enjoyed a fruitful season domestically. However, the Hammers lifted the UEFA Europa Conference League title with a 2-1 win over Fiorentina and will be playing in the UEL next season.
Maguire has lost his influence at the Old Trafford side since Ten Hag’s arrival. The defender has not been at his best since the previous campaign and has now fallen down the pecking order.
In the 2022/23 season, the 30-year-old started in just eight PL matches for the Red Devils. Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane have been the gaffer’s preferred choices at the back. Victor Lindelof is also ahead of the England international in the former Ajax head coach’s plans.

It seems a difficult task for Maguire to get back his regular starting spot. Therefore, it would be wise for the defender to revive his career elsewhere. Will that be at West Ham or Tottenham? Only time will tell.
