Antony “unlikely” to feature for Manchester United vs Manchester City in FA Cup final
Manchester United star Antony is “unlikely” to feature for the Red Devils in the FA Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.
The Old Trafford side will take on Pep Guardiola’s team on 3 June. As things stand, the Sky Blues have the opportunity to complete a historic treble. But we have a chance to spill water on the Cityzens’ dreams.
However, speaking to the media via Manchester Evening News, Erik ten Hag revealed that there is very little chance that the Brazil international will be available for United versus City.
“Unlikely. Antony still [has] a chance but a really small chance. He didn’t make progress, so he still has a chance but unlikely he is available.”
Antony signed for the Red Devils last summer from Ajax. The 23-year-old reunited with the Dutch manager in Manchester and has been pivotal to the gaffer’s plans at the Old Trafford side.
The Brazilian’s start to life at United went off to a quick start. On his debut against Arsenal in the Premier League, the winger found the back of the net.
However, apart from the first few weeks of the season, Antony has struggled for consistency. Constant niggles have also not helped his cause. But still, the 23-year-old has been Ten Hag’s preferred option on the right wing.

Thankfully, Jadon Sancho has found some form in recent weeks. The England international has featured in every position along the front line for the Old Trafford side in the current campaign.
The Red Devils have enjoyed a fruitful season so far. We secured a place in the Champions League for the 2023/24 term after finishing third in the league. The Dutch manager also ended our six-year trophy drought with the Carabao Cup.
