Erik ten Hag keen on reunion with Inter Milan shot-stopper Andre Onana at Manchester United
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is keen on a reunion with Inter Miland shot-stopper Andre Onana ahead of next summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport via ManUtdNews (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are interested in acquiring the goalkeeper’s services in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, the Nerazzurri are willing to part ways with the Cameroon international.
However, the Serie A giants want to get the right price for him. Having signed the 27-year-old as a free agent last summer, the Italian outfit could be about to make €40–50 million profit on him.

Onana made his way through the youth ranks at Barcelona and Ajax. In the 2016/17 campaign, the shot-stopper established himself as the number one at the Eredivisie outfit.
Under Ten Hag, the Cameroon national enjoyed a fruitful spell at De Godenzonen. In the 2018/19 season, the Amsterdam-based club reached the Champions League semi-final.
In the current campaign, the 27-year-old has done better. Inter are in the final of the UCL, with their goalkeeper being in exceptional form. The Serie A giants will take on Manchester City. They also recently won the Coppa Italia.

David de Gea is currently the first choice at United. Ten Hag has relied on the Spaniard. However, the Dutch manager has looked to play the ball out from the back at the Old Trafford side. But the Spaniard leaves a lot to be desired with his distribution.
The 32-year-old has also made a few glaring errors in between the sticks this season. But the gaffer does not have a lot of quality options to choose from, with Tom Heaton and Jack Butland as the backups.

Onana has been impressive at Inter. The 27-year-old is familiar with Ten Hag’s ideas and style of play. Therefore, he seems like the perfect successor to De Gea at the Old Trafford side.
