Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Neymar is hoping for a switch to Manchester United in the upcoming transfer window, according to Foot Mercato via Get Football News France (h/t The Sun).

The Brazil international has accepted the fact that his time at the Parc des Princes side has come to a conclusion. To that end, the forward is eyeing a move to the Old Trafford side and is looking to leave the Parisians for any other team.

It has been suggested previously that the Manchester-based club were already in advanced talks to acquire the services of the 31-year-old. But it will be interesting to see how the saga unfolds in the coming months.

PSG signed Neymar from Barcelona for £192 million in the summer of 2017. Since then, the Brazilian has been one of the attractions of Ligue 1.

However, while the Parisians have dominated the French league over the years, their main aim has seemingly been getting the Champions League trophy. But the Parc des Princes side have failed in that quest even with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar in their ranks.

The 31-year-old has also been injury-prone during his time at PSG. In the last few seasons, the Brazilian has missed some of the biggest games for the Parisians due to fitness issues.

United’s attack has struggled to find any reliable options apart from Marcus Rashford in the attack. Antony has shown his talent scarcely up until now. On the other hand, Jadon Sancho has been inconsistent as well.

We have also been unable to count on Anthony Martial to find the back of the net on a consistent basis. The French national has been on the sidelines for most of the season.

Neymar is one of the best players in the world. However, similar moves for the likes of Angel Di Maria and Paul Pogba in the past have backfired for the Red Devils. Therefore, will the Old Trafford side pursue the Brazilian? Only time will tell.
