Napoli ‘set to offer’ Victor Osimhen new contract amidst Manchester United interest
Serie A giants Napoli are ‘set to offer’ Victor Osimhen a new contract amidst interest from Manchester United, according to Calciomercato (h/t Manchester Evening News).
As things stand, Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is the Red Devils’ top target ahead of the upcoming transfer window. However, the Old Trafford side feel Spurs will not let their talisman depart next summer.
Therefore, the Manchester-based club also have alternatives on their radar, including the Nigeria international. Erik ten Hag is interested in acquiring the 24-year-old’s services.
In the summer of 2020, the Partenopei got a hold of Osimhen’s signature. After a few decent seasons, the striker has come into his own over the last few months and has speared the Italian outfit’s title charge.
Napoli secured their first Scudetto in 33 years in the current campaign after blowing the rest of the competition out of the water. The Nigerian has consistently found the back of the net in the Naples-based club’s bid to win Serie A.
Thus, it is understandable that the Partenopei are not keen on parting ways with the 24-year-old. To that end, they are willing to tie him down to fresh terms with a £138 million release clause.

United’s attack seemingly lacks quality and depth up front. Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst are the only two natural strikers at Erik ten Hag’s disposal for now.
Unfortunately, the former AS Monaco star has been on the sidelines for most of the season. On the other hand, the Holland international was signed on loan from Burnley in January.
