Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola makes contact with Neymar amidst Manchester United links
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Premier League rivals Manchester City, has made contact with Neymar amidst links to Manchester United, according to L’Equipe (h/t Express).
The Brazil international is eyeing a move from Paris Saint-Germain in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, the Spanish manager has picked up the phone and called the forward to enquire about his situation.
There has been growing tension between the 31-year-old and the Parc des Princes side for some time now. As a result, a move away from the Parisians could be on the cards for him next summer.
For now, Guardiola wanted to ‘sound out‘ what is going through Neymar’s head right now. But as things stand, there is ‘very little chance’ the Brazilian will join the Sky Blues.
The former Barcelona head coach has an abundance of talent up front. City signed Erling Haaland last summer. The Norwegian has been remarkable in his debut season in the English top flight. The Spaniard also has the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Julain Alvarez and Bernardo Silva at his disposal.
As for United, our attack has been carried by Marcus Rashford this season. The England international has been our only consistent goalscorer since Erik ten Hag’s arrival.

Thus, it is not a surprise that Casemiro is pushing the Red Devils to sign Neymar. The former Real Madrid star is seemingly keen to play alongside his compatriot at the Old Trafford side.
The Red Devils have the likes of Anthony Martial, Wout Weghorst, Jadon Sancho, and Antony in their ranks. However, they have been inconsistent this season.
