Alphonso Davies Bayern Munich contract renewal uncertain amidst Manchester United interest
Bayern Munich could face complications in renewing the contract of Alphonso Davies amidst interest from Manchester United due to the uncertainty at the club.
The Bavarians won the Bundesliga on the final day of the season. But the German giants parted ways with Hasan Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn soon after.
At the moment, the Canada international is tied down to Bayern until June 2025. However, speaking to Bild via Fichajes.net, Nedal Huoseh, the full-back’s agent, expressed concern over the direction of the Bundesliga outfit and even suggested waiting before extending the defender’s deal.
“It’s a very chaotic time at Bayern. I’m not sure what is happening and who we are going to deal with. There seems to be too much instability and uncertainty about the direction of the club.”
Davies signed for the Allianz Arena side in January 2019 from Vancouver Whitecaps. Since then, the 22-year-old has developed into one of the most explosive left-backs in world football.
The Canadian is a key player for the German outfit. In the current campaign, he has made 38 appearances in all competitions for the Bavarians, scoring three goals and providing eight assists.
Therefore, it is understandable that Bayern want to tie the defender down to a new deal. Apart from United, European giants Real Madrid and Premier League rivals Manchester City also have him on their radar.

Under Erik ten Hag, the Red Devils signed Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord last summer. However, the Holland international has mostly played a backup role in the current campaign.
Luke Shaw has been the gaffer’s preferred option on the left-hand side of the defence. The England international has been a key player in Erik ten Hag’s plans and has been consistent both defensively and in the final third of the pitch.
