Manchester United interest in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi “most concrete”
Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is attracting the “most concrete” interest from Manchester United ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
The centre-back has been linked with a move away from the Selhurst Park side in the coming months, with a number of clubs eyeing his signature. To that end, the Red Devils also have the England international on their radar.
Speaking to GiveMeSport (h/t Manchester Evening News), journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that the Old Trafford side are the team closely keeping tabs on the 22-year-old amongst competition to acquire his services.
“The excellent season of Marc Guehi at Crystal Palace has attracted, for sure, interest from many European clubs.
“And at the moment, the most concrete one is Manchester United, the team that is monitoring him more closely and that are planning at least two incoming moves to strengthen in the defence in the summer.”
Guehi made his way through the youth ranks at Chelsea. After a few loan spells away from the Stamford Bridge side, Palace knocked on the Blues’ door to get a hold of him.
Over the last two seasons at the Eagles, the English national has put in some admirable performances. The defender has been a key part of the Selhurst Park side’s starting lineup and has even been handed the captain’s armband.
In the current campaign, with the return of Roy Hodson to the dugout after Patrick Vieira’s departure, the South London club have turned their campaign around and the 22-year-old has been solid at the back for them.

United’s backline has relied on the partnership of Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane since Erik ten Hag’s arrival. The Dutch manager has preferred the World Cup-winning duo in his defence.
However, the Red Devils can also call upon Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire. But the two have fallen down the pecking order this season.

Therefore, it seems like the right time to part ways with our skipper as well as the Swedish national. In order to bolster the backline, Guehi looks like a promising long-term option for us.
