As per the Mail (h/t Mirror), Manchester United believe a fee of around £100m will be enough to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this summer.
Kane’s contract with Spurs has entered the final 12 months (Transfermarkt). There is no news of his extension yet.
United, on the other hand, know that it will be tough to negotiate a deal with Daniel Levy. The last time they signed a Tottenham player was Dimitar Berbatov more than a decade ago.
Kane has had another terrific season for Spurs in spite of how bad the North London side have been. They moved managers around yet got no spark from the players. The England captain continued to do his bit though.
The 29-year-old is not just a fantastic goal scorer, but also a playmaker on the ball. The amount of times he has assisted Son Heung-min with a through ball in behind the opposition defence is staggering.
Kane was earmarked as the primary number nine target by Erik ten Hag for the coming summer window. The United boss has reiterated the need for a striker who can finish off the chances created by the team.
Anthony Martial has been scoring important goals in recent games, but the Frenchman lacks consistency in performance and availability. Moreover, the array of attributes Kane possesses is far more than the former Monaco man.
If United want to challenge for the league title and do well in the Champions League next season, getting a ruthless number nine is the only way forward.

Although Kane turns 30 soon, he is showing no signs of slowing down. Ten Hag can get the best out of him for the next 3-4 years.
