Manchester United fear lengthy period on sidelines for injured winger Antony
Manchester United fear that Antony could be set for a lengthy period on the sidelines after picking up an injury in the match against Chelsea, according to BBC Sport (h/t Metro).
The Brazil international picked up a knock after a clash with the Blues’ defender Trvoh Chalobah in our previous fixture in the Premier League. At around the half-hour mark, the forward had to be taken off in a stretcher.
Subsequently, the 23-year-old was replaced by Marcus Rashford. In the end, the Old Trafford side ended up beating the Stamford Bridge side 4-1 and qualified for next season’s Champions League.

Unfortunately, Antony’s fitness issue has arisen just before one of the most important games of our campaign. The Red Devils are set to take on Manchester City in the coming weeks in the FA Cup final.
United signed the Brazilian from Ajax last summer. He reunited with Erik ten Hag in Manchester. The Dutch manager has relied heavily on the forward on the right-hand side of the attack.
However, the 23-year-old has often picked up slight niggles throughout the course of the campaign. As a result, the likes of Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho have often played up front.

Antony’s stint at the Old Trafford side went off to an amazing start. However, the mercurial winger has been inconsistent in his displays for the Red Devils.
However, the forward has scored some brilliant goals for United. In the current campaign, the Brazilian has made 44 appearances in all competitions for us, finding the back of the net eight times and providing three assists.

Antony could be in a race against time to be fit for the start of next season. The Brazilian suffered a similar injury last season and missed two months of action for Ajax. Hopefully, that does not end up being the case and we will see the Brazilian back in action soon.
