Manchester United not keen on PSG superstar Neymar due to wage demands
Manchester United are not keen on acquiring the services of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Neymar due to his wage demands, according to Sport (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Brazil international is looking to part ways with the Parisians ahead of the upcoming transfer window. To that end, the Red Devils are one of the teams being linked with his signature.
However, the forward is asking for a lot in terms of his salary, which has put off the Old Trafford side and other teams he has been offered to. The Manchester-based club would only think about giving the 31-year-old that much money on a long-term deal, which is not something they are looking to hand out.
PSG signed Neymar in the summer of 2017 from Barcelona. Since then, the Brazilian has been one of the best players in the French capital alongside Kylian Mbappe.
However, while his numbers at the Parc des Princes side have been impressive, the forward has often left a lot to be desired in big games. He has also been hampered by several injuries at the Ligue 1 outfit.
In the current campaign, the French champions were knocked out of the round of 16 in the Champions League for the second year in a row. Despite the firepower of Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar up front, the Parisians have been unable to do much.

United’s attack has relied heavily on Marcus Rashford this season. He became the first player since Robin van Persie to score at least 30 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils after his strike against Chelsea in the 4-1 victory.
The England international has shouldered the burden of the Old Trafford side’s attack since Erik ten Hag’s arrival. None of our other attackers have contributed considerably in the final third in the current campaign.

Neymar is a quality talent. However, the Brazilian’s age and injury record go against him. Therefore, it would be wise if United stayed clear of the 31-year-old and instead pursued a player with a different profile.
