Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is in contention to feature for the Red Devils in their penultimate match of the season against Chelsea.

The Old Trafford side will welcome the Blues home on Wednesday (25 May) in the Premier League. A win or a point versus the Stamford Bridge side will guarantee Champions League football for the Manchester-based club in the upcoming campaign.

Rashford has been out of action for Man United’s last two matches. But speaking to the media via the club’s official website, Erik ten Hag revealed that the England international had returned to training and looked fit.

“It looks like [he will be available], but yesterday he returns in training and he looks quite fit but we have to see today what the outcome is from the training – how did he recover and then we will make our choices.”

Chelsea have endured a topsy-turvy season. With multiple managerial changes and the addition of several players over the last two transfer windows, the Blues have struggled for form and consistency.

On the flip side, the former Ajax head coach has managed to turn things around at the Old Trafford side. The Red Devils ended their six-year trophy drought after winning the Carabao Cup.

Rashford has played a key role in Ten Hag’s success at Man United. The 25-year-old has shouldered the burden of the Red Devils’ attack since the Dutch manager’s arrival.

In the current campaign, the English national is our leading goalscorer. He has found the back of the net 29 times and has provided 11 assists in 53 appearances in all competitions for the Old Trafford side.

But in recent weeks, Rashford has seemingly hit a rough patch. As a result, the Manchester-based club also endured a few slip-ups along the way against the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United.

Hopefully, the English national will be back on the pitch for the crunch clash against Chelsea. With the FA Cup final against Manchester City yet to be played, we will evidently need the 25-year-old at the top of his game.
