Aaron Wan-Bissaka could stay at Manchester United beyond this season
Resurgent Manchester United star Aaron Wan-Bissaka could end up staying at the club beyond this season after some impressive displays, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Initially, under Erik ten Hag, the English national had found himself out of the team. However, in the last few months, the defender has been handed several opportunities in the starting lineup and has taken his chances with both hands.
Last summer, the 25-year-old was up for sale. The Dutch manager was keen on Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest. But in the end, the former Crystal Palace star ended up staying at the Old Trafford side.
In the previous transfer window, West Ham United were looking to acquire his services. The Eagles also started to prepare a package for Wan-Bissaka’s return in January, but the talks have subsided for now.
While Ten Hag has been impressed with the English national in recent weeks, the gaffer still wants a new right-back in his squad. To that end, Man United have already held discussions with Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong.
It was indicated to the Holland national’s representatives that Wan-Bissaka would part ways with the Red Devils in the coming months. However, figures at the Old Trafford side have suggested that there is a chance the 25-year-old could remain at the club.
The English national was the first choice on the right-hand side of the defence under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. But since the Norwegian head coach’s departure, the right-back has seen his fortunes change.
Diogo Dalot has been preferred by Ten Hag in the current campaign. The Portugal international was a key player for the Dutch manager at Man United before the 2022 World Cup. But since then, the 23-year-old’s form has dwindled a bit.

Wan-Bissaka is a decent player to have in the squad. But it remains to be seen whether the 25-year-old would want to stay at the Old Trafford side without the guarantee of regular minutes.
