Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona were left ‘upset’ after Alejandro Garnacho signed a new contract at Manchester United, according to GiveMeSport (h/t Express).

Last month, the Argentine national put pen to paper on a new deal at the Old Trafford side. The 18-year-old extended his stay at the Red Devils at least until June 2028.

As a result, teams like Los Blancos and the Blaugrana who were tracking the youngster were left disappointed. Apart from the La Liga duo, the Italian pair of Juventus and Inter Milan also had the winger on their radar before he committed his future to the Manchester-based club.

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have also been linked with Garnacho. The 18-year-old has broken onto the scene in the current campaign in fine fashion.

Initially, Erik ten Hag did not trust the Argentine. The youngster was mostly on the bench in the first few games that the Dutch manager took charge of. However, the forward quickly made a place for himself in the gaffer’s plans.

Madrid have an abundance of young talent in their forward line. The likes of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo have already established themself in the Santiago Bernabeu side’s first team.

As for Barcelona, their attack reeks of quality as well. They boast an attack that includes Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele, along with Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati.

Garnacho has shown this season that he can become a world-beater. The Argentine has come in the clutch on several occasions for United in the current campaign.

Hopefully, the Red Devils will be able to keep a hold of the forward for many years to come. It remains to be seen whether, further down the line, the Old Trafford side will be able to fend off the interest the 18-year-old will possibly generate.
