Mohammed Kudus wants to leave Ajax Amsterdam amidst Manchester United and Arsenal interest
Ajax Amsterdam star Mohammed Kudus wants to leave next summer amidst interest from Manchester United and Premier League rivals Arsenal, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required).
The Ghana international’s current contract with the Eredivisie giants expires at the end of the 2024/25 season. Back in April, the youngster rejected a one-year extension of his existing deal.
Kudus has informed Ajax that he intends to part ways with them in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, De Godenzonen are expected to demand around £40 million for the 22-year-old.
Apart from the Gunners and the Red Devils, in the English top flight, Newcastle United also have the Ghanaian on their radar. The forward is admired by a number of other teams as well.
Kudus joined the Eredivisie giants in the summer of 2020. After being a bit-part player at the Amsterdam-based club under Erik ten Hag, the Ghanaian has taken the mantle at the Johan Cruyff Arena side in the current campaign.
Arsenal signed Gabriel Jesus last summer. However, on the bench, the North London side only have Eddie Nketiah backing up the Brazilian. Mikel Arteta’s team have faltered in the last few weeks handing Manchester City the league title.
As for United, Marcus Rashford has been the only forward Ten Hag has been able to count to find the back of the net on a consistent basis. The 25-year-old has shouldered the burden of the Red Devils’ attack this season.
Unfortunately, as of late, goals have dried up for the 25-year-old. As a result, the Old Trafford side have struggled up top.

Kudus is someone who the Dutch manager is familiar with. The 22-year-old has shone for Ajax and Ghana over the last few months. It is understandable that the youngster wants to take the next step in his career. But will that be at the Theatre of Dreams? Only time will tell.
