Inter Milan place £69.5 million price tag on Manchester United target Lautaro Martinez
Serie A giants Inter Milan have placed a £69.5 million price tag on Manchester United target Lautaro Martinez ahead of next summer, according to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are currently ‘monitoring the situation’, with the Argentina international one of the Nrazzurri’s best players. On the other hand, Premier League rivals Chelsea also have the striker on their radar.
As things stand, the Blues are ‘interested’ in the 25-year-old. The Stamford Bridge side have lacked a potent goalscorer in their ranks in the current campaign, with their investment over the last two transfer windows failing to live up to the expectations.
Martinez signed for the Italian outfit in the summer of 2018 from Racing club in his home country. Subsequently, the Argentine has developed at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza side over the years.
The 25-year-old has become the talisman at Inter. Simone Inzaghi’s team have made it to the final of the Champions League this season and are set to face Manchester City in the final.
Martinez also became a world champion with Argentina. Lionel Scaloni’s team made it all the way in the prestigious tournament and beat France in the final.
United’s attack has relied on Marcus Rashford to consistently find the back of the net in the current campaign. The 25-year-old has been the only attacker Erik ten Hag has been able to count on to score goals regularly at the Old Trafford side.
Up front, Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst are the only two natural strikers at the Dutch manager’s disposal for now. But the former AS Monaco has had his fair share of fitness issues this season.

Thus, we could evidently do with a potent number nine like Martinez in our ranks. However, will the Manchester-based club meet Inter’s valuation for the Argentine? Only time will tell.
