Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag wants the club to sign Atalanta star Rasmus Hojlund as well as Harry Kane next summer, according to The Times (Subscription Required) [h/t Metro].

The Red Devils are expected to be in the market for a number nine in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, the Tottenham Hotspur striker is on top of the Old Trafford side’s wishlist.

However, the Dutch manager also wants to add ‘an up-and-coming forward’ to his ranks. As a result, the Danish youngster is on our radar. The 20-year-old could be available for around £40 million.

Kane is a proven goalscorer. The 29-year-old has been Spurs’ talisman over the years and has carried their attack. In the current campaign, the English skipper has once again been the North London side’s standout star.

On the other hand, Hojlund is someone with immense potential. The youngster signed for Atalanta in the summer of 2022. The Danish national has been a key player for La Dea this season.

The 20-year-old has also showcased his talent on the international stage in recent months. The forward has made 31 appearances in all competitions for the Bergamo-based club, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.

United currently have only two natural number nines in their ranks in Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst. Unfortunately, Ten Hag has been unable to rely on either of them.

The French national has been injury-prone this season. On the other hand, the Burnley loanee will return to his parent club at the end of the campaign.

Therefore, apart from an established goalscorer, the Red Devils could evidently do with more quality on the bench. However, it will be interesting to see whether the Old Trafford side will get both Kane and Hojlund next summer.
