Manchester United make ‘formal contract offer’ to Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot
Manchester United have made a ‘formal contract offer’ to acquire the services of Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to RMC Sport (h/t The Sun).
The Red Devils were interested in the France international in the summer of 2022. But a deal failed to materialise and he ended up staying in Turin.
However, as things stand, the 28-year-old’s current contract with the Bianconeri is set to expire at the end of the season. As a result, he will be available for free in the upcoming transfer window.
Erik ten Hag wants to bolster the Old Trafford side’s engine room next summer and has turned his attention back to Rabiot for the same. The Old Lady are looking to save money and the French national could be allowed to leave in the coming months.
Initially, the 28-year-old made a name for himself at Paris Saint-Germain. Subsequently, in the summer of 2019, the midfielder signed for Juventus on a free transfer.
While Rabiot has had a lot of ups and downs at the Turin-based club, he has shone this season. The French national caught a lot of people’s attention in the 2022 World Cup and, despite the Bianconeri’s struggles in the current campaign, has been one of their standout stars.
United reinforced the middle of the park last summer with the additions of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen. The Brazilian and Denmark international have been impressive at Old Trafford.
Unfortunately, Erik ten Hag has been unable to get the best out of the team without them. The likes of Fred and Scott McTominay have been inconsistent over the years and evidently lack the quality we need.

Therefore, the Red Devils could seemingly do with more talented midfielders on the bench. Rabiot is one such player and it is not always that someone of the French national’s abilities is available on a Bosman deal. But it remains to be seen whether the Manchester-based club will be able to pull off a move this time around.
