Jose Mourinho wants PSG to sign Manchester United target and Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat
Potential Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) head coach Jose Mourinho wants the French champions to sign Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat, according to Foot Mercato (h/t The Sun).
The Portuguese manager, who is currently at AS Roma, has been tipped to take charge of the Parisians next season. Christophe Galtier is expected to part ways with the Ligue 1 outfit after a disappointing Champions League campaign.
Mourinho, who has also managed the Red Devils in the past, has held a meeting with PSG and is keen on joining them. The 60-year-old has also told the Parisians to acquire the services of Amrabat.
In England, the Red Devils are currently leading the race for the Moroccan. The Old Trafford side tried to bring the midfielder to the Premier League in the previous transfer window. However, Chelsea had also expressed a desire to get a hold of his signature in January.
Liverpool are also interested in the 26-year-old. Erik ten Hag is keen on adding the enforcer to United’s ranks, but he prefers a move to Barcelona.
Amrabat has been a consistent number six for Fiorentina over the years. However, the Moroccan caught a lot of people’s attention with his displays in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
United have Casemiro in their ranks for now. The Brazilian signed for the Red Devils last summer. In the current campaign, the former Real Madrid star has brought much-needed quality to our engine room.
The 31-year-old has cemented his place in Ten Hag’s plans. Alongside Christian Eriksen, the defensive midfielder has been pivotal to our success this season.
