Bayern Munich unsure about taking “risk” on Manchester United target and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are unsure about taking the “risk” to sign Manchester United target and Napoli star Victor Osimhen.
A number of top teams around Europe have the Nigeria international on their radar. However, the Partenopei will not part ways with the 24-year-old for cheap and want more than £120 million for him.
The Bavarians are eyeing Osimhen. However, speaking to the SportBILD (h/t Manchester Evening News), Oliver Kahn, the CEO of the German outfit, expressed doubts regarding the 24-year-old’s considerable price tag.
“When it’s about such a fee, we have to ask the question: does the player give you a guarantee for this money? That would definitely be a big risk.”
United will look to bolster the attack in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane is the Old Trafford side’s main target. However, the Red Devils also have the Nigerian in their list as an alternative.
However, the Manchester-based club are not the only ones monitoring the striker. French Champions Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern are also interested. But it seems like the Bavarians are having second thoughts about it.
Osimhen has established himself as a world-class number nine this season. The 24-year-old has been Napoli’s talisman this season as they have secured the Serie A title after over three decades.
United’s front line lacks options. Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst are the only two natural strikers at Erik ten Hag’s disposal at the moment. The Burnley loanee joined in January and is set to depart at the end of the campaign.
As for the former AS Monaco star, he has been unreliable since the Dutch manager’s arrival. The 27-year-old has constantly been on the sidelines over the last few months.

Therefore, adding a number nine to our ranks should evidently be the priority next summer. Bayern’s apparent uncertainty about Osimhen bodes well for the Old Trafford side in that regard.
