Erik ten Hag has growing ‘interest’ in Manchester United target and Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has growing ‘interest’ in Brighton & Hove Albion star Alexis Mac Allister, according to the Argentinian version of AS (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are eyeing the midfielder’s services ahead of the upcoming transfer window. To that end, the Dutch manager was left impressed and ‘amazed’ by the 2022 World Cup winner after his performance against the Old Trafford side in the FA Cup semi-finals.
For next summer, the Manchester-based club have the 24-year-old on their list of potential targets to bolster the engine room. But we will need to pay close to ‘close to €70 million’ to the Seagulls to acquire his services.
Mac Allister signed for Brighton in January 2019. Over the years, the midfielder has gone from strength to strength and has developed into a world-beater. Ten Hag can certainly take his game up another notch.
Brighton are thriving under Roberto De Zerbi. The Argentina international is one of the Amex Stadium side’s most pivotal players. He has made 33 appearances in all competitions this season for the Seagulls, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists.
United’s engine room was reinforced last summer with the addition of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro. While the two have been impressive, in their absence, the Red Devils have struggled.
Fred and Scott McTominay have been unable to show consistency at the Old Trafford side. While Marcel Sabitzer’s loan move in the previous transfer window has helped, the Austrian is at the club only until the end of the season.
