Juventus join Manchester United in race for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans
Serie A giants Juventus have joined Manchester United in the race for Leicester City star Youri Tielemans, according to Italian newspaper Calcio Mercato via Fichajes.
The Old Lady are interested in acquiring the services of the Belgium international. As things stand, the midfielder is set to become a free agent next summer with his contract expiring.
However, a number of teams have the 25-year-old on their radar. Apart from the Red Devils and the Bianconeri, the likes of FC Barcelona, AS Roma, Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund are also eyeing him.
Tielemans has been with the Foxes since January 2019. He arrived at the East Midlands club from AS Monaco. Since then, the Belgian has caught a lot of people’s attention with his displays.
The midfielder has been one of Leicester’s best players over the years. In 2021, the 25-year-old won the FA Cup with the Foxes under Brendan Rodgers.
However, the King Power Stadium side are in a relegation battle. With five games to go in the Premier League, the East Midlands club are in 18th position in the league table.
Juventus are set to lose Leandro Paredes in the coming months. The World Cup winner has been on loan at the Old Lady but will return to Paris Saint-Germain. On the other hand, Manuel Locatelli is also tipped to leave the Bianconeri.
United’s engine room has found an exciting partnership in the double pivot with Casemiro and Christian Eriksen. They signed for the Red Devils last summer. However, in the absence of the Brazilian and Danish nationals, the Old Trafford side have not been at their best.
