Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel ‘interested’ in Manchester United midfielder Casemiro
Thomas Tuchel, who is the manager of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, is ‘interested’ in Manchester United star Casemiro, according to German outlet Kicker (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The former Chelsea manager is looking to acquire the Brazil international’s services in the upcoming transfer window. Considering the 31-year-old’s stature at the Old Trafford side, it is unlike that the Red Devils will sell the midfielder.
Tuchel was appointed the Bayern head coach recently after the dismissal of Julain Nagelsmann. However, after an impressive start, the German has struggled for positive results at the Allianz Arena side.
The former Borussia Dortmund gaffer has the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka at his disposal in the middle of the park. At the moment, the Bavarians can also call upon the likes of Rayan Gravenberch and Jamal Musiala in their engine room.
Casemiro signed for United in the summer of 2022 from Real Madrid. Initially, Erik ten Hag tried to slowly fit the Brazilian into the Red Devils’ starting lineup.
However, now, he has become a vital player in the gaffer’s plans. The 31-year-old has been crucial to the little success the Old Trafford side have found in the current campaign.
The defensive midfielder has brought much-needed quality to United’s number six position. He has been our enforcer in the middle of the park this season.
Apart from Casemiro, Scott McTominay is at Ten Hag’s disposal. However, the academy graduate has been inconsistent over the years and has lost his place in the team in the 2022/23 campaign.
