Manchester United ‘ready’ to make offer for AS Monaco full-back Vanderson
Manchester United are ‘ready’ to make an offer for Brazilian national Vanderson, who plays for Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco, according to RMC Sport (h/t The Sun).
The Red Devils are preparing a bid to acquire the right-back’s services. However, other teams in the Premier League are also interested in the defender.
But at the moment, the French side have the 21-year-old tied down at the club until the summer of 2027. Therefore, it remains to be seen what the Red and Whites will demand to part ways with him.
For now, the Old Trafford side have Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot in their ranks. The English national has been Erik ten Hag’s preferred option on the right-hand side of the defence in recent weeks.
However, the former FC Porto star shone for United this season before the 2022 World Cup. The 23-year-old started in the majority of the fixtures for the Dutch manager initially.
But the former Crystal Palace star has managed to make a place for himself in the gaffer’s plans. Therefore, a right-back could depart the Old Trafford side if Vanderson is signed in the upcoming transfer window.
The Brazilian signed for Monaco in January 2022 from Gremio. Since then, he has been a pivotal player in the Ligue 1 outfit’s starting lineup. In the current campaign, the 21-year-old has made 34 appearances in all competitions for the Red and Whites, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
For now, Philippe Clement’s team are fourth in the league table and will not qualify for the Champions League as things stand. In that case, the French side could see a mass exodus.
