Manchester United have been handed a boost regarding the injury Alejandro Garnacho sustained, with the forward back on the pitch and training.

In the 0-0 draw against Southampton at home in the Premier League, the Argentine picked up a knock after coming on as a substitute. Since then, the 18-year-old has been out of action for the Red Devils.

However, speaking to the media via Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag revealed that Garnacho was close to being available again. But the youngster is not ready for the games versus Tottenham Hotspur.

“Garnacho is back on the pitch but he’s not ready for the game tomorrow.”

The forward has broken onto the scene at United in the current campaign. Initially, he had found it hard to get into the Dutch manager’s plans. However, the 18-year-old has quickly turned things around for himself.

After being given opportunities by the former Ajax head coach, the Argentine made the most of them and made some clutch contributions for the Red Devils. He has found the back of the net four times and has provided five assists in 29 appearances in all competitions.

Garnacho’s stoppage time goal against Fulham in the PL that saw us win 2-1 showcased his electric talent. The youngster has since put in similar displays coming off the bench.

The winger has been missed by the Old Trafford side. Often, the 18-year-old would come on to play on the left wing, with Marcus Rashford being deployed as a striker.

With Anthony Martial struggling to stay fit in the current campaign, the Argentine’s absence has been an even bigger setback. Hopefully, he will come back sooner rather than later for us.

United’s next match against Tottenham is crucial. Spurs are in contention to finish in the top four alongside the Red Devils. A win over the North London side would give us a massive advantage in that regard.
