Liverpool accelerate their interest in Manchester United target Ryan Gravenberch
According to the Times, Liverpool have stepped up their interest in Bayern Munich midfielder and Manchester United target Ryan Gravenberch.
The report reveals that the projected price tag is around £25m to sign the Dutch international in the coming summer. The Merseyside club has spoken with the player’s agent, his dad, who takes care of his career.
A few days ago, Manchester Evening News reported that United asked to be kept informed about the situation of the 20-year-old at Bayern. The former Ajax midfielder, who has played under Erik ten Hag back in Amsterdam, has struggled for minutes in his first season in Bavaria.
Along with the Red Devils and Liverpool, league leaders Arsenal are also interested in Gravenberch, who is an exceptional talent irrespective of the lack of game time at Bayern.
The Dutch international is a versatile player who can play in any position across the midfield department. He is comfortable as a solo defensive midfielder, can play in a pivot, has shown his prowess as a box-to-box midfielder as a number eight and has been used as a number 10 too.
United could do with a young midfield addition in the summer. With Scott McTominay expected to leave the club, there is a place to be won in the middle of the park. Christian Eriksen isn’t getting any younger at 31.
Having pulled out of the Jude Bellingham race due to the cost involved, it was expected that Liverpool will go for cheaper yet effective options. So, their pressing ahead with the Gravenberch interest is not a piece of surprising news.

However, it would be great if United also place their interest in and let the player decide where he wants his next destination to be. Having worked with the Red Devils boss before, it might work in favour of the club.
