Manchester United will soon make move for Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha
Manchester United are expected to ‘make their move’ to acquire the services of Fulham star Joao Palhinha in the coming weeks. according to The Sun.
The 27-year-old is attracting interest from a number of top teams, including the Red Devils. To that end, the Cottagers have already lined up a replacement for the Portugal international in Porto midfielder Mateus Uribe.
Marco Silva’s team see the 32-year-old as the perfect replacement for Palhinha. The Colombia international’s current contract with the Primeira Liga outfit is set to expire at the end of the season and the Craven Cottage side have already held talks for him.
On the other hand, United are keeping tabs on the former Sporting CP star’s situation at Fulham. The West London club are going to demand at least £60 million for the Portuguese.
Palhinha made his way to the Craven Cottage side in the summer of 2022. The 27-year-old has taken the Premier League by storm in a short amount of time.
The Portuguese has been solid playing in the number six position for Silva’s team. He has made 31 appearances in all competitions this season for the Cottagers, scoring four goals.
United brought Casemiro last summer to bolster the engine room. The former Real Madrid star has cemented his place in the defensive midfield position at the Manchester-based club.
The Brazil international has brought stability to the Red Devils’ midfield. However, without the 31-year-old, the Old Trafford side have struggled to get positive results. For now, Scott McTominay is the only player who can naturally provide cover in the number six position. But the Scotland international has been inconsistent over the years.
