Manchester United target Ansu Fati ‘wants to continue’ at Barcelona
Ansu Fati, who plays for Barcelona, wants to continue at the La Liga outfit amidst interest from Manchester United, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.
The forward has no intention of leaving the Blaugrana in the coming months. As such, the 20-year-old has made his will to succeed at the Camp Nou side clear to his agent Jorge Mendes.
Earlier, upon receiving the green light from the Catalan outfit, Fati’s representative had offered him to several clubs, including the Red Devils. Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have also been presented with the opportunity to sign the Spain international.
However, while the 20-year-old is flattered by top teams eyeing his signature, the winger has made it clear that he wants to remain at Barcelona.
Under Xavi, the youngster has struggled for regular minutes. But the ex-midfielder has helped instil confidence in him. The La Masia graduate realises that he has a lot of time to grow and develop still at the Camp Nou side.
Fati broke onto the scene in the 2019/20 season at the Catalan outfit. The Spaniard was even handed Lionel Messi’s number 10 shirt after his departure. Unfortunately, injuries have hampered the 20-year-old’s career over the last few years.
United’s forward line at the moment consists of the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho out wide. The competition for lace on the wings is stacked.
Up front, Anthony Martial has put in some impressive displays since returning from injury. Wout Weghorst, who was signed on loan in January, is the cover in the number nine position.

Fati is capable of playing through the centre of the attack. That is an area the Red Devils could seemingly do with more depth. However, it looks like the 20-year-old has his heart set on remaining in Barcelona. But it remains to be seen whether the Spaniard changes his mind further down the line.
