Manchester United ‘setting up’ swap deal with Juventus between Denis Zakaria and Victor Lindelof
Manchester United are ‘setting up’ a swap deal with Juventus between Denis Zakaria and Victor Lindelof, according to Calciomercato (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Switzerland international, who is on loan at Chelsea at the moment, is on the Red Devils’ radar. To that end, the Old Trafford side are willing to give the Bianconeri their centre-back plus cash to acquire the midfielder’s services.
United see the 26-year-old as the perfect addition to their engine room. However, it remains to be seen whether such a complicated deal ends up materialising.
Zakaria joined the Old Lady in January 2022 from Borussia Monchengladbach. However, the Blues came calling for the midfielder’s services last summer and got him on a temporary move.
However, the Swiss national has not enjoyed the best of spells at the Stamford Bridge side so far. The 26-year-old has hardly been handed any opportunities, with the Wet London club in somewhat of a crisis.
Zakaria has not been given a chance to showcase his talent in the Premier League. The midfielder has made just 10 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, scoring one goal.
As for Lindelof, the Sweden international has also found game time hard to come by this season at United. The 28-year-old has fallen down the pecking order with an abundance of talent in the backline at Erik ten Hag’s disposal.
On the other hand, the Red Devils seem to lack bench strength in the midfield. In the absence of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, the Old Trafford side have not been up to the mark.

The Brazilian has been key to the Dutch manager’s plans at United. However, we could evidently do with more cover in the number six position. Therefore, if the Red Devils are able to pull off an ingenious deal for Zakaria without paying too much, it would be wise to get him.
