James Maddison, who plays for Premier League rivals Leicester City, is one of the 11 players Manchester United have on their radar, according to GiveMeSport (h/t Express).

Erik ten Hag recently met some of the Red Devils’ hierarchy, like John Murtough, Richard Arnold and Darren Fletcher, to discuss the Old Trafford side’s business in the upcoming transfer window.

The middle of the park is one of the areas the Dutch manager is keen on reinforcing next summer. To that end, the Manchester-based club have their eyes on Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham and West Ham United’s Declan Rice.

However, the two England internationals are not expected to be cheap buys. They are both extremely important players for their respective teams.

As a result, United are an option for Maddison. The 26-year-old has been in a fine vein of form for the Foxes over the years. However, the King Power Stadium side are currently in a relegation battle.

Even with Leicester struggling, the England international has not failed to impress. He has made 24 appearances in all competitions for the East Midlands club in the current campaign, scoring nine goals and providing six assists.

This season, summer 2022 signings Casemiro and Christian Eriksen have been Ten Hag’s go-to options for the double pivot in the engine room. The two have been impressive.

However, in the Brazilian and Danish nationals’ absence, Man United’s bench strength has left a lot to be desired. The likes of Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek have been unable to live up to the mark in recent seasons.

Therefore, the Red Devils could evidently do with more quality in depth in the midfield. Maddison has been consistently performing for Leicester in the English top flight. In case the Foxes get relegated, it would not be a surprise to see the England international angle for a summer move.
