Bayern Munich loanee Marcel Sabitzer wants Manchester United stay
Marcel Sabitzer, who is on loan at Manchester United from Bayern Munich, wants to stay at the Old Trafford side beyond this season, according to Sport1 via FCB Inside (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Austria international joined the Red Devils on a temporary move in the previous transfer window until the end of the campaign. However, now, he would like a permanent transfer to the Manchester-based club.
Having signed for the Bavarians in the summer of 2021, the 29-year-old feels his chapter with the Bundesliga giants has come to an end. But for now, United do not have the option or obligation to buy the former RB Leipzig star.
However, Sabitzer could cost as little as £13 million. He is comfortable playing under Erik ten Hag and does not want to return to the Allianz Arena side.
The Austrian has enjoyed regular game time at the Old Trafford side. With Christian Eriksen being on the sidelines for the last few months, the 29-year-old’s addition to the squad has been pivotal.
At Bayern, Sabitzer was unable to cement his place in the first team. The Bavarians have the likes of Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Jamal Musiala and Ryan Gravenberch in their ranks.
The Austrian has made nine appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal. He has put in some impressive displays and has added much-needed depth to United’s engine room.
Casemiro and Christian Eriksen have been Ten Hag’s preferred duo in the middle of the park. However, in their absence, the likes of Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek have been inconsistent.

Therefore, it would be wise for us to sign Sabitzer. We have arguably still not seen the 29-year-old’s best version at the club. Even as a backup, the Austrian will evidently add a lot of quality to our midfield ranks.
