Napoli identify Victor Boniface as replacement for Manchester United target Victor Osimhen
Serie A giants Napoli have identified Union Saint-Gilloise attacker Victor Boniface as a replacement for Manchester United target Victor Osimhen, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Partenopei are open to parting ways with the Nigeria international, but for the right price. In order to let him leave, the Italian outfit have set a starting price of £131 million.
Erik ten Hag is interested in bringing the 24-year-old to the club in the upcoming transfer window. While he is on the Red Devils’ radar, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is the top target.
Apart from the Old Trafford side, other top clubs are also monitoring Osimhen. French champions Paris Saint Germain and Premier League rivals Chelsea also have an eye on him.
The Nigerian has been a key player for Luciano Spalletti’s team in the current campaign, scoring 25 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions. The Naples-based club also have Giovanni Simeone in their ranks.
Boniface, who is Osimhen’s compatriot, signed for Union SG in the summer of 2022. In the current campaign, the 22-year-old Nigerian has shown promise at the Belgian outfit.
United have had to rely on Marcus Rashford up front in the current campaign. The 25-year-old is the only forward Ten Hag has been able to rely on to find the back of the net on a consistent basis.
Therefore, we could evidently do with a player like Oismhen in our ranks. The 24-year-old has a keen eye for goal and has taken his game to the next level this season.
