AS Monaco set £44 million price tag on Manchester United target Axel Disasi
Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco want around £44 million to part ways with France international and Manchester United target Axel Disasi, according to the Daily Mail (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils have ‘stepped up’ their interest in the 25-year-old. At the moment, the Old Trafford side are facing uncertainty around the futures of some of their centre-backs.
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have found game time hard to come by this season. As a result, our captain and the Sweden international could opt to leave the Manchester-based club next summer.
United have been monitoring Disasi throughout the campaign. The Red Devils are eyeing a move for the defender in the upcoming transfer window and are continuing talks over a potential deal.
The Old Trafford side are one of several teams in the Premier League looking to acquire the centre-back’s services. It remains to be seen who matches The Red and Whites’ valuation of the French national.
Disai signed for Monaco in the summer of 2020 from Stade Reims. Since then, the 25-year-old has been a key player for the Ligue 1 outfit, regularly starting in their backline.
In the current campaign, the French national has made 39 appearances in all competitions for the Red and Whites, scoring five goals and providing four assists. He also featured for Les Bleus in the 2022 World Cup.
At the moment, Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are Erik ten Hag’s preferred options at centre-back. Maguire and Lindelof, who had been influential in past seasons, have been relegated to the bench under the Dutch manager.
