Tottenham Hotspur want £100 million up-front for Manchester United target Harry Kane
Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur want £100 million up-front in order to sell Manchester United target Harry Kane next summer, according to The Times (Subscription Required) [h/t Manchester Evening News].
Spurs are not interested in getting paid in instalments for the England international’s signature. The North London side hope that will deter the Red Devils from making a move for the striker.
Tottenham believe the Old Trafford side do not want to be involved in lengthy negotiations for the 29-year-old. Daniel Levy, the chairman of the Lilywhites, feels Spurs will not have to sell the forward, even if he does not extend his contract.
Erik ten Hag is keen on getting a hold of Kane, with the striker’s deal set to end in the summer of 2024. However, United also have Napoli’s Victor Osimhen on their radar to bolster the attack.
European giants Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are interested in the 29-year-old as well. The North London side are optimistic about the England international wanting to stay in PL to break Alan Shearer’s goal-scoring record.
Kane made his way through the youth ranks at Tottenham and has gone on to become one of the best forwards in the world. Over the years, the 29-year-old has been prolific for Tottenham.
In the current campaign, the Three Lions’ captain has once again been reliable for Spurs. He has found the back of the net 23 times in 39 appearances in all competitions for the North London side.
At the moment, United have only two natural number nines in Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst. Unfortunately, the France international has been on the sidelines for most of the season.
