Mason Mount appoints new agent and ‘set to leave’ Chelsea amidst Manchester United links
Chelsea star Mason Mount has appointed a new agent, Neil Fewings from Wasserman Media Group, amidst links to Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail (h/t The Sun).
The midfielder’s current contract with the Blues is set to expire in the summer of 2024. At the moment, talks on a new deal with the Stamford Bridge side have stalled.
At the moment, the England international earns £80,000 per week. As a result, the 24-year-old is looking for a significant pay rise. But the playmaker is reluctant to commit his long-term future to Chelsea.
The Blues have given their final offer to Mount and do not want to lose him on a free transfer. With new representatives, the midfielder has given ‘the strongest indication yet that he is set to leave Stamford Bridge’ in the upcoming transfer window.
Liverpool are also eyeing the 24-year-old. The Red Devils, along with Jurgen Klopp’s team, are waiting and ready to pursue the England international’s signature.
In the current campaign, Erik ten Hag has counted on Casemiro and Christian Eriksen in the middle of the park. The two have formed an impressive partnership in our engine room.
However, in the absence of the Denmark international, the gaffer has had to rely on the likes of Fred, Scott McTominay and Marcel Sabitzer. The Austrian signed on loan from Bayern Munich in January and has been decent so far.
Mount made his way through the youth ranks at Chelsea. Under Frank Lampard, the 24-year-old established himself in the West London club’s senior squad. Over the years, the England international has been one of the Stamford Bridge side’s best players.
