Manchester United urged to sign Napoli forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Italy icon Christian Vieri has urged Manchester United to sign Napoli star and Georgia international Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has been in fine form this season.
The 22-year-old has broken onto the scene in the current campaign and has caught a lot of people’s attention with some impressive displays in Serie A as well as the Champions League.
At the moment, the Partenopei are at the top of the league table. They are leading the chasing pack by a considerable margin and are on course to winning their first Scudetto in over three decades.
In the UCL, the Naples-based club have done exceptionally well as well. Luciano Spaletti’s team cruised past the group stages and have a two-goal advantage over Eintracht Frankfurt going into the second leg of the round of 16.
Khvicha has been a pivotal player for Napoli’s success. He was signed from Dinamo Batumi last summer. The 22-year-old has scored 13 goals and has provided 15 assists in 28 appearances in all competitions for the Partenopei.
Speaking to Bobo TV via Calcio Napoli 1926 (h/t Mirror), Vieri, who is most known for his spell at Inter Milan, believes Kvaratskhelia is on the same level as United icon George Best.
“If he goes to Manchester United, the days of George Best will return. Kvaratskhelia is the same. I can’t wait for Wednesday to see Napoli play.”
Best spent 11 years at the Old Trafford side between 1963 and 1974. The now-deceased forward was regarded as one of the best players in the world during his playing career. The Northern Irish star scored 137 goals in 353 appearances for the Red Devils.
At the moment, United have the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial and Alejandro Garnacho, amongst others, at their disposal for the forward line.

However, we could evidently do with more quality in the attack. Kvaratskhelia has shown great talent and potential in his short time at the top level. But will the 22-year-old ever make his way to the Old Trafford side? It remains to be seen.
