Napoli striker Victor Osimhen dreams of Premier League move amidst Manchester United interest
Victor Osimhen, who plays for Napoli, has revealed that he dreams of playing in the Premier League amidst interest from Manchester United.
The Red Devils are looking to bolster their attack in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, the Nigeria international is a name being considered by the Old Trafford side, who will prioritise the signing of a striker next summer.
Speaking to the media via The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t Manchester Evening News], the 24-year-old admitted that he aspired to feature in the English top flight.
“I’m working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League some day but, like I said, it’s a process and I just want to keep on this momentum and continue to do well.”
Osimhen made his way to Naples in the summer of 2020 from Ligu1 1 side LOSC Lille. In the striker’s first two seasons with the Partenopei, he was decent. However, the forward has taken his game to the next level this term.
In the current campaign, the Nigerian has been at his prolific best. The 24-year-old has found the back of the net 21 times in 24 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit.
Napoli are also flying high at the moment. The Italian giants are comfortably at the top of the league. They are on course to win the Scudetto for the first time in over three decades.
Luciano Spalletti’s team have also had an impressive Champions League run so far. After finishing top of their group, the Partenopei beat Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of the round of 16.
Marcus Rashford has had to shoulder the burden of United’s attack this season. Apart from the 25-year-old, none of our other forwards has contributed enough in the final third.

Erik ten Hag also only has two natural number nines in Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst at his disposal. Therefore, we could evidently do with a prolific goal-scorer up front. But will Osimhen fulfil his dream at the Theatre of Dreams in the future? Only time will tell.
