Real Betis star Nabil Fekir injured for rest of the season ahead of Europa League tie vs Manchester United
La Liga outfit Real Betis have lost Nabil Fekir for the rest of the season after he picked up an injury ahead of their match against Manchester United, according to the Mirror.
The Verdiblancos will travel to England on 9 March to face the Red Devils in the round of 16 of the Europa League. However, they will be without one of their most important players in the French national.
In the Seville-based club’s previous match versus Elche, the 29-year-old suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. The playmaker played the whole game as Manuel Pelligrini’s team made a comeback and won 3-2.

Betis are flying high at the moment. They are gunning for a top-four spot in La Liga and are just two points behind Atletico Madrid, who are in fourth place.
Fekir signed for the Verdiblancos in the summer of 2019. The French national made a name for himself with Olympique Lyon prior to his move to Spain.
Over the years, the 29-year-old has been a key member of the Seville-based club’s starting lineup. In the current campaign, the playmaker has made 20 appearances in all competitions for the Benito Villamarín Stadium side, scoring six goals and providing three assists.
Betis finished top of Group C of the UEL to directly qualify for the round of 16. Pelligrini’s team pipped Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma to the top spot.
As for Man United, we had to beat Barcelona in the playoff tie to progress in the competition. We beat the Blaugrana 2-1 at home in the second leg after getting a draw at Camp Nou.

Fekir’s absence will evidently be a big blow for the Verdiblancos. However, they have other attacking threats like Sergio Canales, Borja Iglesias, Willian Jose and the veteran Joaquin. Hopefully, the Old Trafford side will be able to get past them over the two legs.
