Borussia Monchengladbach striker and Manchester United target Marcus Thuram ‘offered’ to Barcelona
Manchester United target and Borussia Monchengladbach star Marcus Thuram has been ‘offered’ to Spanish giants Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The La Liga outfit have been handed a chance to sign the France international amidst ongoing interest from the Red Devils. In the upcoming transfer window, the 25-year-old will be ‘one of the bargains’, with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
Die Fohlen are resigned to losing their striker next summer. Apart from the Old Trafford side, Premier League rivals Chelsea, along with European giants Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, are also eyeing the forward.
It is anticipated that Erik ten Hag will bolster United’s attack in the coming months. However, it remains to be seen whether Thuram will make his way to the Theatre of Dreams.
The French national has been in fine form for Gladbach in the current campaign. Under Daniel Farke, the 25-year-old has thrived in the number nine position.
Having signed for the Bundesliga outfit in the summer of 2019, the forward is having his best season this term. The striker has made 23 appearances in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing four assists.
Barcelona currently have an abundance of talent up front. They signed Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha last summer. Xavi also has the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati at his disposal.
United lost Cristiano Ronaldo midway through the campaign. Subsequently, Wout Weghorst joined the Red Devils on loan in January. The Holland international has had to feature a lot with Anthony Martial’s injury issues this season.
