Tottenham Hotspur have Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson on goalkeeping shortlist
Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur have added Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson to their goalkeeping shortlist, according to football.london (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Ahead of the upcoming transfer window, there is speculation about the 25-year-old’s future. The England international has not been able to carve out a place for himself at the Old Trafford side over the years.
Spurs are looking for a replacement for Hugo Lloris in between the sticks. The France international is currently in the final years of his playing career.
The 36-year-old has been the number one at the North London side for over a decade. However, in recent seasons, the shot-stopper has been inconsistent and has made many errors at the Lilywhites.
As a result, Tottenham have earmarked Henderson as a candidate to target. Other English top-flight goalkeepers like David Raya of Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Robert Sanchez are also being eyed by Antonio Conte’s team.
The England international is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest. He has enjoyed regular game time with the Tricky Trees in the current campaign. The shot-stopper has been Steve Cooper’s first choice for most of this term. However, the West Bridgford-based club got Keylor Navas on a temporary move from Paris Saint-Germain in January.

Henderson made his way through the youth ranks at Man United. After a successful stint with Sheffield United, the Red Devils gave the 25-year-old an opportunity in the first team.
However, the England international was unable to pip David de Gea in the pecking order. The Spain international has been in fine form for the Old Trafford side since last season.
