Manchester United were ‘directly negotiating’ with Juventus for Dusan Vlahovic in January
A Premier League outfit, which is presumed to be Manchester United, were ‘directly negotiating’ with Juventus for Dusan Vlahovic in January, according to Spanish outlet AS (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils were in discussion with the Old Lady for the transfer of the Serbia international in the previous transfer window. However, he ended up staying in Turin.
Now Real Madrid are eyeing a move for the 23-year-old next summer, with the Bianconeri’s situation worsening. The Serie A giants are currently struggling on and off the pitch.
Los Blancos currently have Karim Benzema in the number nine position. However, apart from the Ballon d’Or winner, Mariano Diaz is the other natural striker at Carlo Ancelotti’s disposal.
Vlahovic joined Juventus in January 2022 from Fiorentina. At the Viola, the Serbian made a name for himself as a prolific goalscorer. However, things have not been the same for the striker in Turin.
In the current campaign, Massimiliano Allegri’s team have not been at their best. They are currently seventh in the league table, 12 points behind AC Milan in fourth place.

The 23-year-old has not lived up to expectations at the Bianconeri ether. In 21 appearances in all competitions for the Italian outfit, the forward has scored 10 goals and has provided three assists.
At the moment, United’s striker position is a bit short-staffed. Anthony Martial’s injury issues have meant that winter signing Wout Weghorst has had to feature heavily in the starting lineup.
Also, the Old Trafford side lack goalscorers. Marcus Rashford is the only player Erik ten Hag has been able to rely on to consistently find the back of the net.

Hopefully, the Red Devils will address the lack of depth in the front line in the upcoming transfer window. But it remains to be seen whether Vlahovic will be bought as a solution.
