Inter Milan ‘frontrunners’ to sign Manchester United target Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach
Serie A giants Inter Milan are the ‘frontrunners’ to sign Borussia Monchengladbach star Marcus Thuram amidst interest from Manchester United, according to Calciomercato (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Erik ten Hag is keen on bolstering his forward line in the upcoming transfer window. As a result, the Red Devils have been linked with a move for the France international.
The 25-year-old’s current contract at Die Fohlen expires at the end of the season (transfermarkt). Therefore, the striker will be available on a free transfer next summer.
Apart from the Red Devils, Bayern Munich are also looking to acquire Thuram’s services. However, the Nerazzurri are leading the race for the forward’s signature.
Simone Inzaghi currently has the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku. However, the Belgian is only on loan at the Italian outfit until the end of the campaign.
The Gladbach striker has been in fine form this season. Daniel Farke has preferred deploying the 25-year-old through the middle, where he has thrived. The French national has scored 14 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions.

At United, Ten Hag only has Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst at his disposal in the number nine position. Unfortunately, the gaffer has not been able to rely on the former AS Monaco star. As for the Holland international, he is at the club on loan.
In the current campaign, Marcus Rashford has led the Red Devils’ attack. The 25-year-old has had to consistently find the back of the net under the Dutch manager, with other forwards not contributing a lot.
