Manchester United ‘in the front row’ for Inter Milan full-back Denzel Dumfries
Manchester United, along with Premier League rivals Arsenal, are ‘in the front row’ for the signature of Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries, according to Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport via L’Interista (Manchester Evening News).
The Nerazzurri are ‘waiting for the right offer to cash in on’ the 26-year-old. In the upcoming transfer window, the Serie A giants are looking to make €60 million net profit due to their financial issues.
As a result, the Holland international is seen as someone whose departure could help Inter. The Stadio Giuseppe Meazza side have even ‘identified’ Club Brugge star and Canada international Tajon Buchanon as the ‘perfect replacement’.
Apart from the Red Devils and Mikel Arteta’s team, Chelsea are also interested in Dumfries. However, having signed Malo Gusto, the Blues are now less likely to make a move for the Holland international.
The 26-year-old was bought by the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2021 from PSV Eindhoven. Since then, the full-back has been a key player for Simone Inzaghi’s team.
Arsenal, at the moment, are flying high. The Gunners are leading the English top flight for now. Arteta has relied on Ben White for much of the season to play as the right-back. They also have Takehiro Tomiyasu in their ranks.
As for United, Diogo Dalot has been Erik ten Hag’s first choice. The Portugal international has been in fine form this season for the Red Devils.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has played second fiddle to the 23-year-old in the current campaign. The England U21 international has shown his quality whenever called upon by the Dutch manager.
